How do coupons work?

Overview

Coupons on Javern are discount codes stores create to give buyers money off their order. Each coupon belongs to a single store — you enter the code at checkout for that store's cart and the discount is applied to your total.

As a buyer

1. Add items to a store's cart and open the cart.
2. Tap "Checkout".
3. Enter the coupon code in the "Discount code" field.
4. If it's valid, the discount is applied and your total updates.
5. Confirm your address and pay.

What coupons can look like

Stores can set coupons up in a few ways:

• Percentage off — for example, 10% off your order.
• Fixed amount off — for example, ₦2,000 off your order.
• Minimum order amount — coupon only applies once your subtotal hits a threshold.
• Maximum discount cap — the largest amount a percentage coupon can take off.
• Usage limits — total number of times the coupon can be used, or a per-buyer limit.
• Date range — start and end dates the coupon is valid.
