Copyright Policy

Javern respects copyright. This policy explains what constitutes copyright infringement on the Platform and how rights-holders can report it.

1. What copyright covers

Product photography.
Written product descriptions and marketing copy.
Artwork, graphics, and prints on garments.
Video content.

Ideas, general styles, and functional features are not protected by copyright (though they may be protected by other rights).

2. What infringes copyright on Javern

Using another Vendor's or brand's product photos without permission.
Copying descriptions or marketing copy word-for-word from another source.
Selling garments that reproduce copyrighted artwork (album covers, film stills, illustrations) without a licence.
Using stock photos in violation of the stock library's licence terms.

3. Report copyright infringement

To report copyright infringement on Javern:

Contact our support team with the subject "Copyright infringement report".
Include:
- Your name and contact information.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you own — with evidence (registration, prior publication, etc.).
- Link(s) to the infringing listing or content on Javern.
- A statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information you provide is accurate and that you are the rights-holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your signature (electronic is fine).

4. What happens after a valid report

The reported content is reviewed and, if confirmed, removed.
The Vendor is notified.
Repeat infringers are suspended or permanently banned.

5. Counter-notice

If a Vendor believes their content was removed in error, they may submit a counter-notice through support with:

Identification of the removed content and where it appeared.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the removal was in error or based on mistaken identification.
Contact information.
A statement of consent to jurisdiction of Nigerian courts for the purpose of resolving the dispute.

If the original reporter does not follow up with legal action within a reasonable time, we may restore the content.

6. Fair use / fair dealing

Fair use / fair dealing standards apply. Using a small excerpt for criticism, commentary, or education may not be infringement. When in doubt, seek permission.
