Children's size guide
General kids' clothing size guide for shopping on Javern.
Updated 31 July 2026
Overview
Kids' sizing varies more than adult sizing — kids grow quickly and Vendors use different systems. Always check the Vendor's own chart, and lean on age plus height rather than age alone.
Rough size chart by age and height
| Age | Height (cm) | Chest (cm) | Waist (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2–3y | 92–98 | 52–54 | 50–52 |
| 4–5y | 104–110 | 56–58 | 52–54 |
| 6–7y | 116–122 | 60–63 | 55–57 |
| 8–9y | 128–134 | 65–68 | 58–60 |
| 10–11y | 140–146 | 71–75 | 62–65 |
| 12–13y | 152–158 | 78–82 | 66–70 |
| 14–15y | 162–170 | 84–88 | 71–74 |
How to use this
- Measure by height, not just age. A tall 5-year-old often fits a 6-year-old size.
- Check the chart on the product page. Vendors' charts win over this general one.
- Buy slightly loose if you want the piece to last more than a few months.
- Traditional wear is often tailored — send full measurements.
Tips
- Measure the child in fitted clothing.
- Look for adjustable waistbands and hems on trousers and dresses so they last longer.
- Check the fabric — cotton and jersey are usually the most forgiving as kids grow.
