My payment failed.
What to do when a Javern payment fails at checkout.
Updated 31 July 2026
Overview
Failed payments usually come down to your bank, your card details, or a temporary Paystack hiccup. Most of the time you can just try again — money on a failed payment isn't taken.
Common reasons
- Insufficient funds — not enough balance on the card or bank account.
- Card declined by your bank — often triggered by first-time or online transactions. Call your bank to authorise it.
- Wrong details — mistyped card number, CVV, or expiry.
- International transaction blocked — some banks block Naira online payments unless you enable them.
- Bank OTP not entered in time.
- Paystack timeout — temporary connection issue.
What to try
- Wait a minute and try again. Temporary issues often clear on retry.
- Try a different card or your Javern Wallet if you have balance.
- Try bank transfer if card keeps failing.
- Call your bank and ask if the transaction was declined and why — they can usually approve on the spot.
- Check your details — card number, expiry, CVV, and the name on the card.
Was I charged?
If the payment failed, no money moved. If your bank shows a pending charge, it usually drops off within a few days. If it clears (fully debited) but the Order shows as failed on Javern, contact support with your Order ID and the payment reference.
