Why was my withdrawal rejected?

Why was my withdrawal rejected — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.

Overview

Withdrawals can be turned down by Paystack or by your bank — usually because of a mismatch between your bank account and your BVN, wrong account details, or a bank-side issue. Rejected amounts return to your available balance so you can try again.

Common reasons

  • Account name doesn't match your BVN. Paystack won't send to an account whose name doesn't match.
  • Wrong bank account number or bank code.
  • Dormant or closed account.
  • Receiving bank rejected the transfer for its own reasons.

What to do

  1. Open your vendor dashboard and tap "Wallet".
  2. Open the failed withdrawal for the reason.
  3. Fix the underlying issue:
  4. Try the withdrawal again.
