Why is my balance pending?

Why is my balance pending — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.

Updated 31 July 2026

Overview

A pending balance means you're on Javern's legacy payout setup. Earnings from an accepted order sit in your pending balance until the buyer confirms delivery — at that point they move to your withdrawable balance.

Legacy pending → withdrawable flow

  1. You accept an order → the vendor amount (after 5% + ₦500) is added to your pending balance.
  2. The order ships and gets delivered.
  3. The buyer taps "Confirm Delivery" on their side → the same amount moves from pending to your withdrawable balance.
  4. You can now withdraw it.

This only applies if you haven't activated a Javern Wallet yet.

Skip the pending step: activate your Javern Wallet

Verify your BVN and you get a Javern Wallet — earnings then hit your available balance the moment you accept an order, with no pending step.

Even better, when your wallet is created, both your existing pending and withdrawable balances migrate into the wallet's available balance in a single transaction — nothing is left behind.

What can hold a Javern Wallet balance up

If you already have a Javern Wallet and something's still showing as unavailable, the most common reasons are:

  • Bank account name doesn't match your BVN — Paystack won't let a withdrawal go through.
  • Withdrawal in flight — the amount is already committed to a transfer.
  • Order not yet accepted — orders in "Awaiting Vendors Approval" don't count toward your balance until you accept.
