What should I never share?
What should I never share — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.
Updated 31 July 2026
Overview
There are a few things you should never share with anyone — not another buyer, not a store, not "support" reaching out on WhatsApp or Instagram, not anyone. If someone asks, it's a scam.
Never share
- Your password. Nobody at Javern will ever ask for it. Nobody.
- Any one-time code (OTP) sent to your email or phone by Javern or Paystack. These are the last line of defence for your account.
- Your card details (full card number, CVV, PIN, expiry) over chat, email, or a phone call. Paystack handles cards directly on secure payment pages — Javern staff never need them.
- Your bank login or transfer PIN.
- Your BVN, unless you're entering it into the official BVN verification screen inside the Javern Vendor app.
- Screen-sharing or remote access with anyone claiming to be Javern support.
Safer to share only with the store, only when needed
- Delivery address and phone number — via the order chat once the store accepts.
- A landmark or delivery note.
- Photos of a damaged parcel, as evidence in a dispute.
Red flags
- Someone messages you first claiming to be "Javern support" and asks for your password or code.
- A "seller" asks you to pay them directly by bank transfer and skip Javern — always a scam. Off-platform payments are not protected.
- Someone offers a "verification bonus" or "free wallet credit" if you share a code with them.
If you already shared something
- Password: reset it immediately via "Forgot password" on the sign-in page. See How do I change my password?.
- OTP / card details / BVN: contact support right away and, for card details, call your bank to freeze the card.
