What happens if I don't ship?

What happens if I don't ship — quick answer with steps and helpful context for Javern users.

Updated 31 July 2026

Overview

There are two "not shipping" situations, and they have different outcomes. If you never accept the order, it auto-cancels after 72 hours. If you accept but then don't ship, the order sits open — the buyer will chase you, your store rating takes a hit, and support can step in.

Before you accept: the 72-hour auto-cancel

If an order sits in "Awaiting Vendors Approval" for 72 hours without you accepting or rejecting, our system automatically cancels it:

  • Order status becomes "Cancelled By User" (system-initiated).
  • The full amount is refunded to the buyer's Javern Wallet.
  • Items go back into your available stock.
  • The buyer is notified — you aren't.

Repeatedly letting orders auto-cancel is a bad look and can affect your store's standing. If you know you can't fulfil an order, reject it with a reason instead — the buyer gets context and their refund the same way.

After you accept: no shipping

Once you accept, the buyer expects the parcel. If you never ship:

  • The order stays open in your dashboard and the buyer's "My Orders" screen.
  • The buyer will message you in the order chat asking what's happening.
  • The buyer can escalate to Javern support with your store name and order ID.
  • Payouts on that order can be held or reversed while support investigates.
  • Your store rating and standing on Javern can be affected.

If you can't fulfil an accepted order, tell the buyer as early as you can and work out a refund together — see How do I handle returns?.
