How do I verify my BVN?

Overview

BVN verification is for vendors — it activates your Javern Wallet, gives you a dedicated virtual account for deposits, and unlocks withdrawals. Buyers don't need to verify a BVN. Verification runs through Paystack and usually takes a couple of minutes.

Verify your BVN

Open the Javern Vendor app and sign in.
Go to your vendor dashboard.
Tap "Wallet" or "Verification".
Enter your BVN and you date of birth.
Follow the Paystack verification steps.

What happens once verified

Your Javern Wallet is created and activated.
You get a dedicated virtual account (a Paystack NUBAN) tied to your wallet.
Future accepted orders credit your wallet's available balance immediately — no more pending step.
Your existing balances migrate. If you had a pending or withdrawable balance on the legacy setup, both are added up and credited to your new wallet's available balance in a single transaction — you keep everything, and it's all withdrawable right away.

What matters for verification

The name and date of birth on your Javern account should match what your bank has on record for your BVN.
Your bank account name (for withdrawals) should match your BVN name — Paystack uses this at withdrawal.

What's a BVN?

Your Bank Verification Number is an 11-digit ID issued by Nigerian banks. Every account holder has one, tied to their fingerprint and personal details. It's what banks and payment providers use to confirm you are who you say you are.

Trouble verifying?

Double-check the BVN you entered.
Make sure the name and date of birth on your Javern account match what your bank has for that BVN.
