How do I set shipping rules?

Overview

Shipping on Javern is set per store — you create the shipping options you offer (name, description, price) and buyers pick one at checkout. There's no built-in courier integration, so you're free to price options however works for your setup.

Add or edit shipping options

Open your vendor dashboard.
Go to "Profile" → "Shipping" (or the "Shipping rates" section).
Tap "New shipping option" to add one, or open an existing one to edit.
Configure:
- Name — short label buyers see at checkout (e.g., "Standard", "Express", "Same-day Lagos").
- Description — optional, one line about who or where it's for.
- Price — in Naira.
- Active — toggle off to hide the option temporarily without deleting it.
Save.

Tips

Cover your usual couriers. One "Standard" is enough for many stores; add "Express" if you offer faster delivery.
Reflect true costs. Don't undercharge yourself on shipping — it comes out of your payout.
Split by area if delivery cost varies a lot — you can create separate options like "Lagos" vs "Interstate".
Cap options — offering too many shipping choices confuses buyers.

What buyers see

At checkout, only your active shipping options appear. Buyers pick one and the price is added to the order total.

Update or remove a rule

Edit any option any time. Existing orders keep whatever shipping option they were placed with — changes only affect new orders.
