How do I set discounts?

Overview

Discounts on Javern run through the coupons system — you create a coupon code with the discount you want (percentage or fixed amount), set the rules, and buyers redeem it at checkout.

Set a discount

1. Open your vendor dashboard.
2. Tap "Profile" → "Discounts and Coupons".
3. Configure:
   • Type — percentage (e.g., 15% off) or fixed amount (e.g., ₦3,000 off).
   • Minimum order — if the discount should only apply above a threshold.
   • Maximum discount — cap on a percentage discount.
   • Usage limits — total uses, per-buyer limit.
   • Date range — how long it's valid.
4. Save.

Discount ideas

• Welcome offer — first-order discount to convert new buyers.
• Bundle deal — discount when a buyer's cart exceeds a threshold.
• Seasonal promo — time-limited discount for holidays or launches.
• Restock or drop — small discount to reward buyers who order early.

Discount vs price change

• Prefer a discount coupon over permanently dropping your listed price — you keep price flexibility and it feels like a promo to buyers.
• Only change the base price when the change is permanent.
