How do I secure my account?

Overview

Keeping your Javern account safe comes down to a strong password, two-factor authentication, and being careful about what you share. Here's the checklist.

The basics

• Use a strong, unique password. Don't reuse a password you use anywhere else. See How do I change my password?.
• Turn on two-factor authentication. Adds a second check every time you sign in. See How do I enable two-factor authentication?.
• Keep your email and phone number up to date — we use them to reach you if we spot something unusual, and for password recovery.
• Sign out on shared devices. Especially on borrowed phones or public computers.

Things to watch for

• Phishing messages that look like they're from Javern asking for your password or a one-time code. Javern will never ask you for either. See How do I avoid scams? and What should I never share?.
• Fake "support" DMs on social media pretending to help with your account.
• Suspicious sign-in notifications — if you see one you don't recognise, change your password and turn on 2FA.

If you think your account is compromised

1. Reset your password immediately via "Forgot password" on the sign-in page. See How do I change my password?.
2. Turn on two-factor authentication if it isn't already.
3. Check your addresses, saved cards, and wallet balance for anything you didn't do.
4. Contact our support team with details of what happened.
